Access Statement
Introduction
The Strands Inn was built in the 19th century in Nether Wasdale a Remote Rural Hamlet in the Lake District National Park.
It is a two - storey building and all of the 14 letting bedrooms are on the first floor.
All the bedrooms are decorated differently and we have tried to keep them as comfortable as possible.
We have oil central heating in all the rooms and rooms are of all different sizes.
note: none of the rooms are of a large size.
Some of you will find that if you are taller than 5 feet 9 inches you will have to duck through some doorways.

Pre-arrival

The nearest bus stop is approximately 7 miles away in Seascale.
The nearest railway station is Seascale, it is approximately 7 miles away and there are no taxis on stand by at the station.
Gosforth Taxi Company is 4 miles from the Inn their telephone number is 01946 725 308.

Car parking
There is ample free parking for Strands Inn guests, at the rear of the building. This car park is loose gravel and concrete in parts. which is 10m away from the rear entrance.
There is on street free parking to the front of the building. This is tarmac and 5m from the main entrance.
Entrance and hall
The main entrance has one low level step approximately 2 inches high.
Front door width 71cm, hinge to the left with a small wooden threshold 2cm high.
The key hole lock is 138cm high.
Inside the entrance door you will find the main Reception and Main Bar area to the left.
General
The décor is of a fair standard, with light painted walls and all the stairs, throughout.
All the ground floor areas are wooded except for the bottom bar which is original slate.
A fire alarm electrical system is fitted throughout the whole building.
There are smoke detectors though out the building including all bedrooms they are all electric mains operated.

We have available cards, domino's, Chess, Backgammon, connect 4 and other board games.
Large flat screen television in the bottom bar (sorry no sky available).
Darts board in the Bottom Bar.

The building - The proprietors live on-site at all times if away cover is always arranged.
